This is an alluring Pinot Noir with aromas of strawberry and red cherry. Soft and textural, the palate offers bright fruit flavours with an underlying spice, gentle acidity and soft tannins.

Viticulture

Classic cool and mild growing season. Low crops, bright colours, terrific perfume and charm.

Vinification

Grapes are both hand and machine harvested with a percentage of the hand harvested used for whole bunch inclusion. A combination of winemaking techniques are used to produce a final blend with complexity and balance. These include cold maceration prior to fermentation, inclusion of whole bunches and warm fermentation at 28 ̊C to 32 ̊C. Minimal handling and filtration is adopted to preserve fruit flavour.

Food Pairing

These lighter styles matches well with: White Meat – Roast Pork, Chicken or Duck Hard Cheeses – Parmesan, Romano,Vintage Gouda

The De Bortoli family story is one of determination and triumph that started 90 years ago and is now told, generations later, across Australia.
Our heritage encompasses the universal story of immigrants making good in an adopted land, the rise and rise of the Australian wine industry and the tale of a hardworking and innovative family
who considers good wine, good food and good friends to be among the true pleasures in life.
Today, as a fourth generation enters the family business, De Bortoli is amongst the top wine producers of Australia with vineyards spanning 6 premium wine regions.

Over the past few years we have changed our thinking and our approach to growing grapes and making wine. The change is being driven by both philosophical and pragmatic factors but mostly by our desire to leave a legacy for future generations, an idea with resonance for any family-owned company.

De Bortoli Wines

“De Bortoli Wines is a third generation family wine company established by Vittorio and Giuseppina De Bortoli in 1928. The couple emigrated to Australia from Northern Italy, from mountain villages at the foothills of the Italian Alps, near the historic town of Asolo.
Their son, the energetic and dynamic Deen De Bortoli, (b 1936 – d 2003) expanded and consolidated the business created by his parents. Deen’s children established De Bortoli’s reputation for premium wine including icon dessert wine Noble One and the Yarra Valley wines.”

Yarra Valley

Victoria is a small state in area, but home to possibly the largest number of wineries in Australia, most of them which are small family-run operations. Victoria’s diverse topography, combining numerous mountain ranges, like the Grampians and the Victorian Pyrenees throughout the centre; flat plains in the northeast; and hilly, ocean-cooled reaches in the Melbourne area, make its vineyards amongst the most scenic in Australia. An enormous range of wine styles are available, and virtually every varietal flourishes in some part of the state.

Pinot Noir

“The famous grape of Burgundy. The classic style is medium colour, with fragrant berry, violet and gamey-earthy aromas, and soft, full sweet berry flavours, with velvety tannins.
This variety is most suited to a long cool growing season that are found in southern Victoria (noteable Yarra Valley), Adelaide Hills of South Australia, and southern regions of Western Australia.”
