Henschke’s new release is awarded 100 points This month, Henschke’s `Hill of Grace` Eden Valley Shiraz 2016 receives a perfect 100-point score from Nick Stock on Nick notes that “the layering of tannin in this 2016 release is a real highlight of the style, built throughout various old vine parcels, and offering a wine that is multifaceted and already so complex on release, yet one that has a very long capability for ageing…The balance is pitch perfect. It is a vintage of extreme pedigree.” The `Mount Edelstone` Eden Valley Shiraz 2016 (98 points) is “an exceptional release…a seductively plush, fleshy and velvety rendition of spicy, pure and concentrated Eden Valley shiraz…certainly one of the greatest Mount Edelstone releases to date”. The story of the Rufus Stone dates back almost 1,000 years to medieval England. King William II, known as Rufus, is believed to have been killed by an errant arrow fired by Sir Walter Tyrrell – an ancestor of the Tyrrell family. Today, the site of this infamous incident is marked by the Rufus Stone. Since 1997, Tyrrell’s top non-Hunter red wines have been named in honour of their historical association with the Rufus Stone. Rufus Stone is Aussie shiraz at its best and at a price that compares favourably with many other big red shiraz. Warm, good fruit tase, some spice on the pallet but a full injection of flavour into the mouth. I have tasted this with quite a few people and every single one of them has loved the wine.
