Paulett Polish Hill Chardonnay
A lightly oaked Chardonnay from Clare Valley in South Australia. A beautiful gold in colour, with aromas of ripe peach and nectarines. The palate is silky with lovely citrus and stone fruit flavours and well integrated oak which gives weight, structure and notes of vanilla and honey. The weight of the wine is perfectly balanced by the refreshing acidity which leads into a subtle, yet lasting finish.
The name Polish River comes from the Polish settlers who came to the area in the early 1850s escaping religious persecution. Pauletts reputation for producing wines of finesse, elegance and intensity is justly deserved with consistent skill and care from vintage to vintage. Neil Paulett graduated from the Roseworthy oenology course in the early 1970s and spent a further ten years honing his winemaking skills at Penfolds before buying his own property in the Clare Valley. Located some 90 minutes north of Adelaide, this lovely property now extends to 150 hectares with 47 planted with vines. Since the first vintage in 1983 there have been many accolades both at home and internationally. These wines are a true reflection of the region and are of outstanding quality.

“Sometimes you just want a dinner guest that fits in with your motley crew of mates & family
members: a people pleaser with charm and grace, enough depth to hold a decent conversation,
but not so much attitude they split a room. This Chardaonny ids a winner on all fronts. There’s
stonefruit & honeysuckle welcome with a touch of citrus and a touch of french oak and a clean
sharp acidic finish. A great addition to the table.”

About 1 ½ hours drive north from Adelaide is the beautiful Polish Hill River sub-region of the Clare Valley , home to Neil and Alison Paulett and their winery. The Polish Hill River region was named after the Polish Settlers of the mid 1800’s. The area is blessed with a climate ideal for premium grape growing and the combination of consistently good winter rains, hot summers tempered by cool nights and a long ripening period produces grapes of exceptional flavours and balance.
Rated by Halliday as a 5 star winery
South Australia is the largest wine producing state of Australia. It may be surprising to most that the Riverland region is the state’s largest grape producing area. The Barossa Valley is famed for its full-bodied, rich, ripe and generous reds. The Coonawarra is internationally renowned for its Cabernet Sauvignon (and prized ‘terra rossa’ soils). Padthaway, McLaren Vale, and the Clare Valley all make major contributions, and the importance of the Adelaide Hills is rapidly increasing.
